Putting the Pieces Together

Ahh, blogging, how I've missed you. Not really. It's been a crazy several months and real life and work got in the way, but I'm back and I've decided not to beat myself up about it. (New Year's resolution.)

As I've been putting the pieces of my life together 'lo these many months, I decided that a little post on how I put one of my favorite looks together was apropos. I've been calling this my "1970's rock groupie trolling the Sunset Strip gets invited to a party in Laurel Canyon" look. The hubby just thinks I was channeling Stevie Nicks that day. I'll accept that.

Full disclosure: I wore this outfit to dinner at a fancy, schmancy restaurant so you could wear it out. But then again, I'm in L.A. so my outfit barometer for that kind of stuff may be a little off.

I added a lace bralette with gorgeous back detail to a velvet burnout dress with a little bit of swing. Some faux suede over-the-knee-boots and the comfiest, coziest jacket and tassel earring complete the look.
