How to Transition A Floral Dress Into Fall
As I'm writing this post, it's literally 100 degrees Fahrenheit outside. It never fails in L.A. When we're all ready to guzzle our Pumpkin Spice lattes, the mercury soars. I'm totally a fall person, so this struggle is real for me. Fall in Los Angeles won't happen for awhile and when it hits, it's not stereotypical. Some trees change color, but let's face it, the palm trees are oblivious.
But fall will eventually be here (sooner than us for many of you) and cooler night will prevail so I thought it would be a good idea to start thinking about transitional season dressing. I'm a bang-for-your-buck kinda gal, so I'm always into stretching the wardrobe. Sometimes it's just a matter of adding a few key pieces in fall colors.
For this look I "fallified" a floral high-low summer dress by adding brown knee-high boots I've had forever, the softest furry grey sweater I got last year, and a spice blanket scarf.
Summer look: Floral dress (Kaitlyn), platform sandals (Call It Spring) and vintage necklace (Poshmark).
Fall look: Added a grey sweater (Nordstrom), blanket scarf (Forever 21) and tall boots (vintage).
